Mr Puneet Gupta

Puneet Gupta is a Managing Director at Protiviti and leads the Internal Audit and Financial Advisory (IAFA) practice for the member firm in India. He has over 24+ years of global experience as a seasoned risk consulting, corporate governance, internal audit and finance transformation professional.

Puneet has successfully led several engagements across multinationals as well as Indian corporates encompassing a range of industries for designing, implementing and effectively strengthening their internal controls, risk, and governance framework. He continues to regularly engage with audit committees, board members and C-suite on the design and evaluation of corporate governance frameworks, enterprise risk management, business planning and performance management matters. Helping businesses respond to compliance mandates, stakeholder expectations and the evolving economic environment in a cost efficient and sustainable manner.

Over the years, Puneet has anchored diverse strategic initiatives for building the firm's capabilities across high growth opportunity domains such as building a digital platform for Continuous Control Monitoring, use of technology in internal audit, setting up internal control center of excellence, and managed services. As an industry leader, he is focused on technology enablement of GRC solutions and keenly facilitating for the next generation of Internal Audit professionals at Protiviti to shape future leaders.

Puneet recently concluded an in-depth study on internal control challenges for independent directors in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and facilitated several corporate governance and risk oversite training programs for companies.

Before Protiviti Puneet was heading the risk management and internal control transformation services for Genpact Enterprise Risk Consulting. He has also worked with Ernst and Young in the risk advisory space. He is a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst, MBA (Finance) and Six Sigma Green Belt and continues to serve on the CII Financial Review Committee.
